Medicinal mushrooms
for animals
The use of medicinal mushrooms in dry food for dogs, cats, horses and small animals has been widespread for some time.
Our medicinal mushrooms have important ingredients that not only promote human health, but also that of animals. The high quality of medicinal mushroom powder and extracts is crucial. Medicinal mushrooms are powerhouses with valuable ingredients such as zinc, copper, selenium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D and many B vitamins. The animal receives important amino acids as high-quality protein building blocks.
Pet owners have a great responsibility for the health of their animal. In addition to animal welfare, nutrition is the most important thing to keep the animal healthy.
When it comes to the dosage, it should be noted that large animals do not need a multiple of the amount. Mushroom powder should be mixed into the feed twice a day. Powder capsules can also be opened very easily for this.
The dosage also depends on the type and extent of the symptoms as well as the type and size of the animal. A recommendation can only be given and tested individually. Since the medicinal mushrooms also have a detoxifying effect, it makes sense to start creeping in with a lower dose to prevent excessive reactions.
However, the following empirical values can serve as a basis for dosing:
| Animal species | Amount of mushroom powder | Amount of mushroom extract |
|---|---|---|
| Dogs up to approx. 10 kg |
0,5 - 1 g | 150 - 300 mg |
| Dogs up to approx. 20 kg |
1 - 2 g | 300 - 600 mg |
| Dogs up to approx. 50 kg |
2 - 3 g | 600 - 1200 mg |
| Cats | 0,5 - 1 g | 150 - 300 mg |
| Horses small |
2 - 3 g | 1,2 - 2 g |
| Horses normal to large |
3 - 4 g | 1,8 - 2,5 g |
| Rodents | 0,4 - 0,5 g | 150 - 250 mg |
* Because of the very good absorption and sensitive reaction, low doses are generally used in horses despite the higher body weight.
