Auricularia

If you like to eat Asian, you have probably already had this mushroom on your plate. The "Mushroom of the Year 2017" is better known under the name Mu-Err. This mushroom, shaped like an auricle, is native almost all over the world. The Auricularia can be found all year round in riparian forests, mainly on hardwood, especially on elder trees.

Not only in China, where it has been used for over a thousand years and was therefore cultivated very early, the Judas ear was also used for various medical purposes in medieval Europe.

The auricularia contains many trace elements such as Potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon and zinc. The many valuable proteins and other bioactive substances make it a very valuable mushroom in TCM. It is also worth mentioning that the auricularia contains the substance adenosine.
