Chaga

The Schillerporling or Chaga (Tschaga) is a remarkable tree parasite, it can be found in northern Europe as well as Siberia, Japan and Canada. It can be recognized as an inconspicuous black, bulbous outgrowth that more or less clearly stands out from its host tree.

This mushroom is divided into two fruit shapes. The sterile secondary fruit form, which is actually meant by “Chaga”, and the main fruit form, it forms a sloping layer of pores, from which the “Schiefe Schillerporling” gets its name.
